Jan Sievernich is a Project Associate with the Climate and Technology Partnerships Division at UNIDO in Vienna, focusing on policies enabling the Green Hydrogen Transition. He has been with the organisation since May 2021 and also contributed to the new Industry & Environment EQuIP tool as well as the latest Jordan Industrial Competitiveness Report. Previously, he has worked on the scientific assessment of progress towards the Aichi Biodiversity targets for the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and as data analyst for the EU "Advisory Services for Resilient Agri-Food Systems" project.
Jan holds a M.Sc. in Socio-ecological Economics and Policy from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. A brief on his master’s thesis “Mining-induced deforestation patterns in Indonesia” was published by the FINEPRINT project, which is concerned with reducing global material flows.
