Nicola Grassano holds a PhD in Law and Economics from the University of Bologna (Italy) and has been visiting fellow at SPRU - Science Policy Research Unit at the University of Sussex (UK). He joined the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission in November 2013 as researcher fellow, working on topics related to industrial research and innovation.
His research activities focus mainly on topics related to economics of innovation like innovation and productivity, innovation indicators and measurements problems, R&D and non-R&D based innovations, big multinationals investing in R&D, patent-based indicators.
