Jostein Hauge

Jostein Hauge is Political Economist and Assistant Professor in Development Studies at the University of Cambridge.

Jostein Hauge completed his PhD at the Centre of Development Studies in POLIS, supervised by Ha-Joon Chang. He obtained his Master’s degree in Political Economy of Development from the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies, and his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Hauge’s research interests are in the areas of international political economy, economic development and industrialization, technological change and digitalisation, and the role of the state in economic change.
