João Carlos Ferraz

João Carlos Ferraz is Professor at the Instituto de Economia, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (IE/UFRJ), Brazil. He has long-standing teaching and research experience and policy practice and advises on subjects related to industrial organisation, the economics of innovation, and development finance. He was Vice-President and Executive Director of the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), 2007-2016; Director of the Division of Production, Productivity and Management, Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, United Nations (ECLAC/UN), Chile, 2003-2007 and, Dean, IE/UFRJ, 1998-2003.
