Anabel González is Deputy Director-General at the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Anabel González is Deputy Director-General at the World Trade Organization. González is a renowned global expert on trade, investment, and economic development. She has worked across all regions on trade, export and foreign direct investment strategies; negotiation and implementation of trade agreements; development of competitiveness and business climate plans; and institutional development. In government, González served as Costa Rica's Minister of Foreign Trade. She also worked as Director-General of the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency. Ms González also served as the World Bank Senior Director on Trade and Competitiveness and as the WTO Director for Agriculture. More recently, she was Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and Senior Advisor to BCG.
